الشحن

This is the shipping policy for Flint Hill Farm Educational Center, Inc. — everyone just calls us Flint Hill Farm. The short version: aged cheese ships, everything else is farm pickup, and we pack cold so your cheese arrives the way it left the farm.

What we ship

We ship our aged cheeses — cheddar, parmesan, manchego, and ricotta firma — within the United States, to addresses a carrier can reach in two days or less. That's the only thing we put in a box, and we don't ship outside the US.

Two days is our limit because that's what the ice packs are good for. If it turns out your address can't be reached inside that window, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than send out cheese we aren't confident in — and we'll call or email you first, not just leave you wondering.

Everything else we make and sell — raw and pasteurized milk, yogurt, kefir, butter, eggs, and fresh chèvre — is too fresh to travel. Those stay local — farm pickup at the store, or local delivery if checkout offers it for your address; details below.

How your cheese travels

Aged cheese is sturdy, but delivery trucks are not kind to it. Every order goes out cold-packed in an insulated liner with ice packs, so it stays cool from our cooler to your door.

When we ship

We send cheese out early in the week — Monday through Wednesday — so your box never spends a weekend sitting in a warehouse. If you order later in the week, we'll keep your cheese here in the cooler and ship it at the start of the next week.

Shipping rates

Shipping is calculated at checkout from the size and destination of your box. You'll see the delivery options available for your address, with the cost and the delivery date for each, and you choose the one that suits you — all of it before you pay. Orders of $150 or more ship free.

Everything else: farm pickup or local delivery

Fresh dairy, eggs, chèvre, and anything else that doesn't ship is available for pickup at our walk-in farm store:

  • Flint Hill Farm, 1922 Flint Hill Road, Coopersburg, PA 18036
  • Monday–Saturday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
  • Sunday, 12:00–5:30 PM

No appointment needed — just come by during store hours.

Live near the farm? Checkout will also offer local delivery for a flat $5 when your address is inside our delivery area — we bring your order to your door ourselves.

If something's wrong when it arrives

It shouldn't happen, but sometimes a box takes a beating or sits too long on a truck. If your cheese arrives damaged, with a broken seal, or genuinely spoiled, contact us within 24 hours of delivery with photos of the box, the ice packs, and the cheese. We'll make it right with a replacement or a refund.

A word about temperature: our aged cheeses are built to travel. Cheddar, parmesan, and manchego kept for months on farms long before anyone had a refrigerator. If your box arrives cool rather than cold, or the ice packs have melted along the way, that's a normal delivery and your cheese is fine. What we want to hear about is cheese that's actually damaged or spoiled — a broken seal, an off smell, or mold that isn't part of the rind.

Because cheese is food, we can't accept returns of perishable items — but we don't need the cheese back to fix a problem. Reach us at info@flinthill.farm or (610) 838-2928.

Please double-check your address

Ice packs only last so long, and a box sent to a wrong or incomplete address spends extra days in transit. Please make sure everything is right at checkout — apartment or unit number included. If the carrier's tracking shows the delay came from the address we were given, we can't replace that box. Spot a mistake after ordering? Call us right away at (610) 838-2928 — if it hasn't left the farm, we'll fix it.

If a box comes back to us undeliverable, we'll refund the cheese, though not the shipping, and we're glad to send a fresh one at the regular rate.

And plan to be home. Once the carrier marks a box delivered, it's out of our hands — a box waiting on a porch on a hot afternoon won't stay cool. If you won't be there, send it somewhere you will be.
