Baby Rhett

JERSEY BULL CALF

Born in July 2024, bottle-fed and hand-raised, and completely convinced every visitor came to see him. He is the first animal most children meet here.

Stevie

GREAT PYRENEES

The farm dog, and the first face at the gate. Stevie greets every visitor, supervises the whole place from the top of the picnic table, and is never happier than in a puddle or on a car ride.

Eleanor

JERSEY COW · 4 YEARS

Gentle, curious, and hard-working: Eleanor gives about 20,710 pounds of milk a year, which is where a great deal of our cheese begins.

Hayden

JERSEY COW

The friendliest face in the barn. Hayden also gives about 20,710 pounds of milk a year. A working cow in every sense.

Hayden costs over $1,500 a year to keep: feed, veterinary care, and supplies. That figure is the farm's own.

Star

THOROUGHBRED · 10 YEARS

A summer horse-camp favorite who genuinely likes children. Star's allergies mean she eats a special hypoallergenic diet, which costs more than an ordinary one.

Apadrinar Star
Leroy, gray with a dark mane, wearing a Santa hat beside the red barn

Leroy

27 YEARS

The old man of Flint Hill Farm. Leroy ambles over to anyone who stops at the fence, collects the affection he is owed, then goes back to walking the field with his best friend Henry, the mini horse.

Apadrinar Leroy

Gretchen

SHEEP · THE MATRIARCH

Gretchen leads the flock, and she leads it well. She is the matriarch, the one the others follow across the field. Lambing season means extra care for her, before and after.

Apadrinar Gretchen

Officer

STANDARDBRED · 13 YEARS

Playful, gentle, and devoted to rolling in the dirt. Officer feels the cold more than the others, so winter here means a blanket, a heater, and extra hoof care.

Noel

ALPINE GOAT

Cheerful and businesslike about it: Noel's milk is what becomes our goat butter, our soap, and a good deal of our cheese.
