The farm's history
Flint Hill Farm dates to about 1850. The Cicione and Hassick families worked this ground from the early 1910s to 1997, and Kathleen Fields has run it since: first as a dairy, then, in 2006, as a 501(c)(3) educational center too.

The Cicione and Hassick families
The Cicione and Hassick families farmed here from the early 1910s until 1997. Photographs like this one are what's left of those dairy years.
1997 to today: Kathleen Fields
Kathleen Fields, an MSN and Certified Nurse-Midwife, took over in 1997 with a different idea of a small farm: a smaller herd, raw milk, on-site cheese, and people.
In 2006 she founded the Flint Hill Farm Educational Center, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit that runs the classes, tours, and camps. She is still its president.

From midwifery to the milking parlor
Kathleen Fields, MSN, CNM, took over a Coopersburg dairy farm in 1997. Today it is a PA-certified raw milk dairy with the PA Preferred designation.
The farm's mission, in her words: to bridge the gap between the urban and suburban community and the farm.
"We grow lives."
"People ask me what my crop is, what we grow here," she told Lehigh Valley Style in 2025. "I tell people, we grow lives. That's our crop."
